Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Sirimon Gate – Old Moses Camp (3,300 m)
Pick-up early in the morning from Nairobi and drive for approximately 3 hours to Naro Moru, with a brief stop at our office to organize and check all equipment required for the climb. Thereafter, continue by vehicle to the Sirimon Track and proceed to the park gate.
From the gate, begin a 9 km hike to Old Moses Camp (3,300 m), which takes about 2–3 hours. This gentle hike is ideal for acclimatization and passes through diverse vegetation zones including rainforest, bamboo, and heather. There are also good chances of spotting wildlife along the way.
Dinner and overnight at Old Moses Camp.
Day 2: Old Moses Camp – Shipton’s Camp (4,200 m)
After breakfast, depart at around 7:00 a.m., following the Sirimon route through the scenic Alpine Moorland Zone.
The trek takes approximately 5–7 hours depending on fitness levels, with a picnic lunch served en route. Arrive at Shipton’s Camp (4,200 m) in the late afternoon.
Dinner and overnight at Shipton’s Camp.
Day 3: Shipton’s Camp – Point Lenana (4,985 m) – Old Moses Camp – Nairobi
A pre-dawn start at 3:00 a.m. is required for the summit attempt to Point Lenana (4,985 m). On clear mornings, you may catch views of Mount Kilimanjaro rising above the clouds in the distance.
After sunrise and summit photos, descend back to Shipton’s Camp for breakfast, then continue descending to Old Moses Camp. From here, you will be picked up and transferred back to Nairobi.
